The Heart-Wall

When you feel guarded, the Heart-Wall may be why

Dr. Bradley Nelson describes the Heart-Wall as a protective wall of trapped emotions that can form around the heart during hard times. It is one of the most common things I work on.

What people tell me it feels like

Everyone describes it differently. Clients who come to me for Heart-Wall work often say things like:

  • “I keep people at arm’s length, even the ones I love.”
  • “I feel a bit numb, or like I’m watching my life from behind glass.”
  • “It’s hard for me to let joy all the way in.”

These are emotional experiences, not symptoms. If you are struggling with your health or mental health, please see a licensed professional.

How it is released

One layer at a time

A Heart-Wall is usually made of several trapped emotions. In each session I find and release the ones that are ready, until the wall is clear. According to Discover Healing, that typically takes two to four sessions.

Heart-Wall questions

Do I definitely have a Heart-Wall?

Not necessarily. In your first session I simply ask, using muscle testing. If there is one, we start releasing it; if not, we work on whatever comes up.

Can a Heart-Wall be released at a distance?

Yes. Like all my sessions, Heart-Wall work is done by proxy, so Zoom and phone sessions work just as well.

Where does the idea come from?

The Heart-Wall is part of Dr. Bradley Nelson’s Emotion Code, which is included in the Body Code. His book The Heart Code (2025) is a good introduction.
